Alexander Shokhin: The scale of South Ossetia's projects requires access to international markets

President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Alexander Shokhin, commenting on the South Ossetian projects presented at the 1st International Economic Forum, noted their potential and focus on the Russian market.

"These are viable, promising projects aimed at a wide range of consumers, primarily in the Russian Federation," Shokhin told reporters.

According to him, the scale of the projects is such that the South Ossetian market is insufficient for them, and they are successfully entering the Russian market.h

Alexander Shokhin gas emphasized that the business model of these projects is to generate demand and market share by demonstrating high quality and speed of delivery.

He noted the importance of leveraging the Republic's competitive advantages, such as its climate and natural resources, particularly natural stone, wine, water, timber, and marshmallow.

"These projects confirm the Republic's effective integration of its economy into international trade and economic relations. This applies not only to the Russian market. Today, South Ossetia is signing a free trade agreement with Abkhazia. We see the companies entering foreign markets using transit routes through Russia, particularly with Iran, conducting trade and supplying products," Shokhin continued.

He also noted the dynamism of South Ossetia's business community and expressed hope for even greater results by the next international economic forum.
