The situation on the border of South Ossetia with Georgia remains stable, calm and predictable, Egor Kochiyev, the head of the South Ossetian delegation in the IPRM format, told journalists after the meeting in the village of Ergnet.

"Since the previous meeting, a minimal number of violations of the state border, violations of the Republic's airspace by unmanned aerial vehicles have been recorded," he said.

According to him, over the past period, there have been no violations by the Georgian police or representatives of the European Union observer mission.

Two cases of violation of South Ossetia's airspace by Georgia have been recorded since the previous meeting within the framework of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanisms (IPRM), the head of the South Ossetian delegation in the IPRM format, Yegor Kochiev, told journalists after the meeting in the village of Ergnet.

This was noted by the head of the South Ossetian Foreign Ministry, Akhsar Dzhioev, at the press conference in Tskhinval, emphasizing the importance of the format.

The 64th round of these talks ended in the late June, and according to the Minister, the main issues discussed throughout all rounds since 2008 are security in the region and humanitarian problems.

The preliminary meetings of the Geneva Discussions Co-Chairs are important. The presence of all participants at the talks demonstrates their commitment to the process, the OSCE Co-Chair Christophe Späth said during the press conference.

"During the preliminary meetings, it is important to find out the priority topics for the participants in the discussions. We are all grateful that we had a very detailed discussion today," he has noted.

Christophe Späth has stressed that the positions of the parties differ greatly.

Following the 63rd round of the Geneva discussions on security in Transcaucasia, encouraging signals emerged regarding the possibility of developing and signing the agreement on the non-use of force. "The date is still preliminary, it may change. We are waiting for official confirmation and the invitation to participate in the next round in Geneva," Kochiev said.
