The socio-economic development program for South Ossetia through 2030 will strengthen the Republic's economy. This was stated by the South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev during a meeting with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov.
"You mentioned the socio-economic development program being drafted for 2026-2030. This is the important document. We expect its implementation to also serve as a major step in strengthening South Ossetia's economic strength," Dzhioev said.
The South Ossetian Foreign Minister has noted that the Russian Federation has been and remains a reliable guarantor of the Republic's security, TASS reports.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is holding bilateral talks in Sochi on Wednesday with his Abkhazian and South Ossetian counterparts, Oleg Bartsits and Akhsar Dzhioev. Current bilateral issues are being discussed, and the signing of updated Russian-Abkhazian and Russian-South Ossetian plans for inter-ministerial consultations for 2026-2027 is planned. Furthermore, the three foreign ministers intend to discuss foreign policy issues of mutual interest, including cooperation in international discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia.
