The South Ossetian deputies participated in the 12th Conference of the North Caucasus Parliamentary Association

The 12th Conference of the North Caucasus Parliamentary Association has became a platform for the constructive exchange of experience and the strengthening of friendly ties between the parliaments of the republics of Southern Russia, South Ossetia, and Abkhazia. This was noted by Zita Besaeva, First Deputy Speaker of the South Ossetian Parliament, who led the South Ossetian delegation at the event in Karachay-Cherkessia.

The delegation has also included Zaza Driaev, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-parliamentary Relations.

"Today's conference, marked by the stamp of national identity, is taking on special significance. In the era of rapid change and contemporary challenges, our unity is becoming not only desirable but also essential for developing strategic directions and achieving common goals," the Deputy Speaker has emphasized.

Besaeva expressed confidence that this format of interaction was extremely important and emphasized her readiness to continue fruitful cooperation within the North Caucasus Parliamentary Association, where the Republic of South Ossetia was actively involved for many years.

According to the press service of the legislative body of the Republic of South Ossetia, the key event of the conference, the plenary session, was held in the resort village of Arkhyz.

At the beginning of the meeting, Murat Ozov, the Head of the Administration of the Head and Government of the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic, read out a welcome address to the participants of the XII Conference of the NCPA from Rashid Temrezov, Head of the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic.

Alexander Ivanov, Chairman of the People's Assembly (Parliament) of the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic, also welcomed the participants and wished everyone successful work.

Under his chairmanship, the parliamentarians discussed 26 agenda items.

Appeals, initiatives, and draft laws from the North Caucasus parliaments to federal authorities were unanimously supported. They concerned social issues, agriculture, the administrative code, taxation, industry, youth policy, territorial development, etc.

At the end of the Conference, a transfer of powers took place, with the Republic of Dagestan taking up the baton for the next XIII Conference.

The NCPA has included deputies from seven regions of the Russian Federation: the Republic of Dagestan, the Republic of Ingushetia, the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, the Chechen Republic, the Kabardino-Balkaria Republic, Stavropol Krai, and the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic. The Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia is also the associate member of the NCPA.
