The current generation of the South Ossetian security officers carefully preserves and develops the best traditions of their predecessors and achieves new results, Chairman of the KGB noted, speaking at thr event marking the agency's professional holiday.
"Today we are honoring the professionals and patriots who firmly stand in defense of the state interests of the Republic of South Ossetia, its constitutional order, and territorial integrity. Throughout history, security agencies have been and remain a strong pillar of the state.
Our duty is to remember the glorious and heroic path of our special services and honor the memory of the veterans who made a huge contribution to the victory over Nazism," the Presidential press service quoted the KGB chief as saying. Yuri Kadiy has emphasized that the current generation of the South Ossetian security officers carefully preserves and develops the best traditions of their predecessors, achieves new results, and acts competently and responsibly.
"We bow our heads in memory of the defenders who gave their lives in the line of military duty," he said.
Those present observed a moment of silence in memory of the fallen.
The KGB chief has noted that the agencies face the most challenging tasks in preventing the escalation of the situation in the South Caucasus region and ensuring and maintaining a unified security system with the Russian Federation.
"The high level of cooperation between our agencies serves the interests of maintaining stability and ensuring security of the Republic of South Ossetia. On State Security Officers' Day, I sincerely wish you new victories and achievements in your difficult work for the good of the Fatherland, good health, happiness, and family well-being," Yuri Kadiy said.
