The South Ossetian government has not lost hope of signing a legally binding document on the non-use of force by Georgia against South Ossetia and Abkhazia. This opinion was expressed by the Republic's Foreign Minister, Akhsar Dzhioyv, to TASS.

"We are trying in every way to convey to the Georgian side [the need to sign a document on the non-use of force]. So far, it hasn't worked, but we haven't lost hope. We hope that in the future we can reach any understanding. Time will tell what happens in practice, but I repeat, this is the main issue for us, and we will maintain a consolidated approach with our Russian and Abkhaz colleagues in this regard," he said.

According to Dzhioev, the importance of this document for South Ossetia has not yet been conveyed to the Georgian side. "Why is this document important? Because without a security guarantee, other issues, other areas, cannot develop—that's absolutely clear," he added.

It was previously reported that the Georgian parliament passed, in its third and final reading, a law repealing the legislative acts that established the temporary administration of South Ossetia in 2007 under the hen-president Mikheil Saakashvili.
