South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev called the outgoing year a productive one for bilateral relations with Russia. He made this statement at the meeting with media representatives dedicated to the results of 2025.
"We are in regular contact with President of Russia, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Kiriyenko, and our colleagues in general.
Our mutual commitment to continuing joint work was confirmed at the meeting of presidents of South Ossetia and Russia in the Kremlin on May 10, where South Ossetia participated in the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War," Gagloev said.
This year, approximately 14 bilateral documents at various levels have been signed with the Russian party, the President has noted.
"Agreements were signed on pensions for customs officers, on the establishment of general education institutions for the Russian Ministry of Defense in South Ossetia, and between Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation, as well as protocols to the existing agreements. As we know, a number of agreements were also signed on the sidelines of the 1st International Economic Forum 'South Ossetia: Investment Horizons' in September," the President has emphasized.
He has added that 12 more documents are being developed, specifically those concerning pensions for prosecutors, increasing pay for employees of the state security service, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and so on.
"We continue our systematic work to harmonize legislation and expand the bilateral legal framework. A number of documents are noteworthy here, in particular the entry into force of the agreement on the development of military-technical cooperation and the agreement on the settlement of dual citizenship issues in April 2025.
The procedure for non-Russian citizens to enter Russia without prior notification through the Gosuslugi portal has also been simplified," the head of state said.
