Tskhinval has mourned Andrei Margiev, a fighter from South Ossetia perished during the special military operation.
The Republic's leadership, led by President Alan Gagloev, members of Parliament, led by Speaker Alan Margiev, Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov, and his comrades-in-arms attended the funeral.
During the funeral ceremony, tributes were paid to Andrei's courage, devotion to his friends, and high moral character.
"The republic has suffered a loss: a hero and the patriot is no longer among us. Andrei was wounded, but quickly recovered, returned to his comrades, and, unfortunately, died," the memorial service noted.
Margiev was 47 years old. He left two children without a father.
By decree of President of South Ossetia, Andrei Margiev was posthumously awarded the "Defender of the Fatherland" medal for courage and bravery displayed in defense of the Motherland.
