South Ossetia condemns the attack on the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and calls on the governments of the responsible sovereign states and international organizations to take effective steps to prevent escalation and resolve the situation promptly through diplomatic means. This is stated in the statement by the South Ossetian Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the situation in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

"On the night of January 3, 2026, the US armed forces attacked the territory of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. The civilian and military targets in the capital of the Republic, Caracas, and the states of Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira were hit. This act constitutes flagrant violation of the UN Charter and the fundamental principles of international law, which could have unpredictable consequences for peace and stability in Latin America and the Caribbean, and seriously threatens the lives of millions of people," the statement of the Foreign Ministry reads.

The statement has also noted that the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is taking the necessary measures to protect the population, the country, and ensure the functioning of the state authorities.
