At the invitation of the leadership of the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of South Ossetia in Russia participated in the opening ceremony of the International Youth Model UN "DAIMUN-26" of the Diplomatic Academy.
The opening ceremony featured speeches by Sergey Shitkov, Acting Rector of the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vice Rector for Legal Affairs at the MGIMO University, Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Vasily Nebenzya, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN and the UN Security Council (video message), Kirill Logvinov, Director of the Department of International Organizations, and other distinguished guests.
The event, held at the Victory Museum, was attended by representatives of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Moscow, and young diplomats.
A wreath-laying ceremony was held in the Hall of Remembrance as part of the event.
The model movement of the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is a clear confirmation of the young generation's firm commitment to transfer the resolution of international problems into public diplomacy and peaceful interstate dialogue. The essence of this modeling is the recognition of diplomacy as the primary instrument for implementing state foreign policy, promoting the goals and principles of the UN aimed at maintaining and strengthening international peace and security, as well as developing cooperation between the states.
