At the Prodexpo 2026, new mountain glacier water, Highland Water, from South Ossetia was showcased.
As noted by Taimuraz Goginov, Trade Representative of the Republic of South Ossetia in Russia, the South Ossetian producers plan to become one of the largest suppliers of beverages from the high-mountain districts to the Russian Federation.
"Prodexpo 2026, the largest international food and beverage exhibition, has become a showcase for the products of South Ossetia's leading enterprises.
The Republic is presenting the impressive exhibit, the key element of which was the launch of a new product—Highland Water—a premium water and a demonstration of innovative beverage production technologies," Goginov said.
The water is marketed under two names: "Sia" and "Romis," each of which has received positive reviews. Visitors to the exhibition say, "This is luxury in a bottle."
South Ossetia is a mountainous region of living springs. Highland Water is natural mountain water extracted from a spring in the highland village of Edis (Dzau District) at the altitude of 1,940 meters above sea level. The water, packaged in a transparent glass bottle, is environmentally friendly and features a low-mineral composition, a fresh spring taste, and requires no additional purification.
"South Ossetia is presenting the Highland Water brand for the first time. We chose Prodexpo 2026 for its presentation for a reason; the exhibition is where the most exciting product launches in the industry are announced every year. We see tremendous interest in our brands at our stand, and the South Ossetian products are highly rated," Taimuraz Goginov said. "South Ossetia has the most favorable conditions for the production of any food product."
The Trade Representative has added that the Republic is renowned for its unique ecology, clean mountain rivers (Malaya and Bolshaya Liakhva, Ksani), glacial lakes (Ertso, Koz, and others), therapeutic mineral springs, mountain air, and pristine forests.
"In short, we have the most favorable environmental conditions, so our products are rich in nutrients, chemical-free, and have a natural taste," he has noted.
The Highland Water is the perfect complement to any cuisine. According to Goginov, the plans include launching sales not only in federal retail chains and marketplaces but also at the Russian resorts.
And very soon, the new Highland Water will appear on the menus of popular restaurants and hotels in various Russian cities.
In addition to the new product, visitors to the stand can see the full range of beverages from the Republic's highlands: from the classic light beer "Iryston" and the light wine "OLA OLA VERDE" to the trendy "HIGHLANDBEER" lager line.
A separate section features the natural honey, cheeses, and other national products.
