Abkhazia and South Ossetia are advocating for the unified, consolidated position at the Geneva Discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia. This was stated by Oleg Bartsits, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, during the press conference in Tskhinval.
Speaking about the current level of cooperation, he highlighted the close coordination of the two ministries' efforts, which allowed to effectively defending their national interests at the key international forum.
"Our interaction is strategic in nature. This is particularly evident on the sidelines of the Geneva Discussions. Here, the delegations of Abkhazia and South Ossetia essentially act as staunch allies. We work in unison. "Every step is preceded by serious preliminary work on all issues, so that our opponents have no arguments left in their actions, and so that we can systematically move toward achieving our common goal," Bartsits has clarified.
The Minister reminded that the main goal for both republics in the negotiation process is the signing of a document on the non-use of force.
