A large-scale exhibition of modern military equipment and weaponry was held on Theater Square in the capital of South Ossetia, timed to coincide with Defender of the Fatherland Day and the 33rd anniversary of the founding of the Defense Ministry of the Republic.

Residents and visitors to the city were presented with modern weapons and combat equipment in service with the armies of South Ossetia and Russia.

The event was organized by the Defense Ministry of the Republic of South Ossetia jointly with the command of the 4th Guards Military Base of the Russian Federation.

The square featured the extensive exhibition, ranging from armored personnel carriers (APCs) and armored vehicles to small arms—Kalashnikov machine guns and various assault rifle models. Visitors, especially young people, were particularly drawn to the modern unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The servicemen were conducting the introductory tours for schoolchildren, explaining the tactical and technical characteristics of the equipment.

Aslan Gagloev, the APS instructor of the Defense Ministry of the Republic of South Ossetia, congratulated his compatriots and emphasized the military brotherhood of the two countries.

"Russia is a strategic partner of South Ossetia. And now, Ossetians, side by side with Russian soldiers, are defending our common homeland. I wish all soldiers in the special military operation zone fortitude and a speedy victory," Gagloev has emphasized.

A private Inal Kabulov, his colleague, also joined in congratulating the participants in the special military operation.

"I sincerely congratulate the special military operation soldiers on Defender of the Fatherland Day. Your fortitude and courage are the example for us all," Kabulov has noted.

In addition to inspecting the weapons, the holiday guests were able to immerse themselves in army life: a traditional field kitchen was set up on the square, where everyone was treated to hot porridge.

Merab Zasseev, Director of the National Museum of South Ossetia, spoke about the significance of the holiday for the younger generation. According to him, such exhibitions clearly demonstrate the defense potential of the Republic and its ally.

"This holiday remains relevant year after year. We must always remember, honor, and value our history. Today's exhibition gave young people the opportunity to see the technical capabilities available in our Republic and in our strategic partner, Russia," Zasseyev has noted.

The event demonstrated not only the power of modern weaponry but also the strong allied ties between South Ossetia and Russia, and has also become the important patriotic event for residents of the Republic.
