Diplomats from the two countries discussed the development and strengthening of bilateral relations between South Ossetia and Nicaragua during the online meeting.
The meeting, whith participation of the South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev and the Nicaraguan Co-Foreign Minister Valdrac Jentzke, was initiated by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia.
The Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Denis Moncada, who is currently in New York, and Nicaraguan Ambassador to Russia and South Ossetia Alba Torres Mejia also participated in the discussion.
On behalf of the South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev, Akhsar Dzhioyev conveyed greetings to Comandante Daniel Ortega and Co-President Rosario Murillo.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of the South Ossetian-Nicaraguan relations and emphasized the importance of their further development.
The meeting participants emphasized global changes that contribute to growing instability in the world and reaffirmed their commitment to the principles of self-determination of peoples, non-interference in internal affairs, and non-use of force or threat of force.
The Nicaraguan counterparts reaffirmed the immutability of their decision to recognize the independence of the Republic of South Ossetia and expressed their readiness for a comprehensive dialogue, underscoring both sides' desire to strengthen bilateral relations.
