Russia’s Ministry of Energy is a key partner regarding gas and electricity supply, Marat Kambolov, the President-elect of South Ossetia, noted on his Telegram channel following a meeting with the head of the Russian ministry, Sergey Tsivilev.
"For many villages in the Republic, gasification remains one of the most pressing issues.
People have waited years for the opportunity to heat their homes and live in decent domestic conditions.
We have made significant progress in addressing this challenge," Kambolov said.
The parties discussed the further gasification of settlements and specific steps for implementing the project.
"Another important issue is the reliability of the electricity supply.
Our Russian colleagues have prepared Proposals for modernizing South Ossetia’s electrical grid infrastructure.
We will continue our work based on the agreements reached during the visit of the Russian Energy Ministry delegation to the Republic this summer," the President-elect has emphasized.
Ensuring reliable electricity and gas in every home is a fundamental task we must resolve, he has added, expressing gratitude to Tsivilev for his personal attention to South Ossetia and his readiness to assist.
