President of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov hosted the well-known Russian businessman Taimuraz Bolloev, who had arrived in the Republic on a working visit. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Rostik Khugaev, head of the Presidential administration Boris Chochiev, First Deputy Prime Minister Guram Melkoev, and a Chairman of the Committee of Industry, Transport and Energy Vasily Dzasseev.
At the beginning of the meeting the President welcomed the guests and told about the plans and processes for rehabilitation and further development of the Republic of South Ossetia.
South Ossetia will be striving for recognition its independence by Georgia. This was declared by the Foreign Minister of South Ossetia David Sanakoev at a meeting with the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Moscow.
Projects of the South-Ossetian State University, named after A.A.Tibilov, presented at the IX International Junior Forestry Contest, held in Moscow, have been included in the top ten of the forum. As IA "Res" has been informed by professor of biology and botany of the South-Ossetian State University, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences Johnny Kachmazov, the main challenge that faced the competitors was to develop projects for protection the forestry ecology in the world.
Georgia held parliamentary elections in which has won the opposition party "Georgian Dream", led by Bidzina Ivanishvili.
South Ossetia had been observing the elections with interest. We have asked the RSO Presidential Envoy for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev to comment how the outcome of the political processes in the neighboring country will affect the relations between South Ossetia and Georgia, and what are the prospects of development of relations between Georgia and South Ossetia:
- Parliamentary election in Georgia, first of all, is the affair of the people of Georgia. But as far as the relationship between South Ossetia and Georgia is not settled yet, of course, we cannot help being interested in it. First of all, the results of the elections suggest that the people of Georgia are tired of Mr. Saakashvili's government, of the position they have been over the years, and, I think, the current choice was made after careful consideration and with the hope for a better future.
Exhibition of works of the Ossetian artists "The Alans Parallels" has been closed in Budapest (Hungary). As IA "Res" has been informed by the head of the International non-profit association «Renaissance Sandidzan» Radion Pukhaev, the exhibition was dedicated to the Ossetian-Iasi cultural and historical ties.
Representatives of the South Ossetian leadership, headed by President Leonid Tibilov and Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Administration for Interregional and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries Sergey Chebotarev, arrived on a working visit to the Republic, have visited today Leningor district of South Ossetia.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia David Sanakoev is planning to pay an official visit to the Russian Federation on October 8-9.

EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia welcomed the level of cooperation shown by all parties after the September 29 incident occurred near the village of Karzman, (Dzausky district of South Ossetia) and the subsequent detention of the Georgian policeman. This was stated yesterday on the official website of the EU Monitoring Mission. It is noted in the statement, that the extradition of the detained police officer (October 1) by the Russian border guards to the Georgian side "led to the rapid resolution of the situation."
