Аmbassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of South Ossetia to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Narim Kozaev visited the Venezuelan diplomatic mission in Moscow on Sunday.

This was reported by the press service of the South Ossetian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The purpose of the visit was to express support and official condolences to the people and leadership of the country following the tragic events that occurred in Caracas on January 3.

The Orthodox world of South Ossetia celebrated one of the most important Christian holidays—the Epiphany.

Festive events swept the Republic's capital, uniting dozens of believers in prayer and traditional rites.

The celebrations began at midnight, with a festive Divine Liturgy held at the Holy Trinity Church in Tskhinval.

In the morning, the celebration continued at the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in the Alanian Diocese.

South Ossetian Defense Minister Yuri Yarovitsky and Zhanna Zasseeva, the head of the Immortal Regiment public organization, discussed stepping up the cooperation between the organization and the Ministry.

According to the Defense Ministry's press service, Zasseeva spoke about the organization's efforts to locate the burial grounds of Red Army soldiers born in South Ossetia, as well as its collaboration with the Republic's military commissariat and the Russian public organizations.

The commander of the sabotage and reconnaissance detachment "Alania" Ruslan Ostaev (call sign "Skif") awarded medals to the South Ossetian fighters for impeccable service in the zone of the special military operation.

In a solemn atmosphere, he noted the contribution of each of the recipients, emphasizing their high professionalism, perseverance and dedication in performing combat missions.

President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev met with the commander of the Alania regional military unit Ruslan Ostaev (call sign "Skif") and his Deputy Nikolai Tuaev, the press service of the head of state reported.

A memorial service was held in Tskhinval for a soldier Batrbeg Ostaev, died heroically in the line of duty during the special military operation.

Hundreds of people came to share the grief of the deceased's family.

The memorial service was attended by the Republic's leadership, headed by President Alan Gagloev, Russian Ambassador to the Republic of South Ossetia, Marat Kulakhmetov, Commander of the Alania detachment, Ruslan Ostaev (call sign "Skif"), representatives of ministries and agencies, the soldier's comrades, and the public.

The question of recognition or non-recognition is the sovereign right of each party, the South Ossetian Foreign Ministry stated, commenting on the Georgian Foreign Ministry's statement on the situation in Venezuela.

The Georgian Foreign Ministry has expressed hope that the events in Venezuela will lead to the Caracas reversing its "illegal decision" to recognize the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

South Ossetia condemns the attack on the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and calls on the governments of the responsible sovereign states and international organizations to take effective steps to prevent escalation and resolve the situation promptly through diplomatic means. This is stated in the statement by the South Ossetian Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the situation in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

The Office of the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights of South Ossetia expressed strong support for the people of Venezuela.

"We remember that the Bolivarian Republic was one of the first countries to recognize the sovereignty of South Ossetia, demonstrating a commitment to the principles of justice.

South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev expressed condolences to the Kherson Oblast Governor Volodymyr Saldo following the terrorist drone attack that had taken lives.

"On behalf of people of the Republic of South Ossetia and on my own behalf, I express my deepest condolences to you and all residents of the Kherson region in connection with the horrific terrorist attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces drones on the café and hotel in Khorly on the New Year's Eve," the condolence telegram reads.
