South Ossetia is preparing to enter the Russian market with a unique product — pink marble. The natural stone mining and processing company Impuls-A has begun to develop a quarry, where industrial mining of the elite stone will begin in the near future.

As reported to IA "Res" by the company's General Director Elbrus Kochiev, partners from the largest cities in Russia have already shown interest in South Ossetian marble.

"We are currently paving the way to the deposit and will soon begin mining," he said. "This is the important stage in the development of our company and, without exaggeration, a significant contribution to the economy of the Republic. Pink marble with such a noble shade is a great rarity; there are practically no analogues in Russia."

According to Kochiev, distributors in Moscow and St. Petersburg are already expecting the first products. Moreover, negotiations are underway on the use of the South Ossetian marble in the decoration of one of the new metro stations in the capital.

“This is a serious step forward. The last time natural stone from South Ossetia was used in Moscow architectural projects was back in the Soviet times, during the reconstruction of the Paveletskaya metro station,” he has reminded.

At this stage, the company is actively working not only on the domestic but also on the foreign market. Products made of gabbro-diorite, manufactured at the Impuls-A plant, are already used in the significant architectural objects: the Eternal Flame wall and the new bridge in Tskhinval, the staircase complex in the Shtyba district of Vladikavkaz, as well as the fountain in Beslan have been decorated.

The company, where more than 60 residents of South Ossetia are working, provides stable employment with decent wages - the average salary exceeds 52 thousand rubles.

In addition, "Impulse-A" regularly replenishes the state budget of the Republic through tax deductions. The company specializes in the extraction and processing of natural stone. Production capacities allow the production of more than 20 types of products, including complex architectural elements.

With the entry into the pink marble market, South Ossetia gets a chance to occupy its niche in the segment of elite building materials, especially in the context of a shortage of the European raw materials against the backdrop of sanctions.
