The Livadia Forum, Literary Readings, Concerts: Taimuraz Tadtayev on Participation in the Festival in Crimea

Parliamentarians of South Ossetia took part in the International Festival "Great Russian Word" in Crimea.

The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Parliament, Head of the Parliamentary Committee on Education and Science Taimuraz Tadtayev and Head of the Parliamentary Committee on National Policy, Culture, Religion and Media Ruslan Khubezhty, the press service of the legislative body reports.

At the opening of the festival, welcoming addresses were made by Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko and Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin.

The guests were greeted by the Head of Crimea Sergei Aksyonov and Chairman of the State Council of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov, as well as the heads of other trgions of the Russian Federation.

Taimuraz Tadtayev read out a congratulatory address on behalf of Speaker of Parliament of South Ossetia, Alan Margiev, emphasizing the significance of the event and its role in cultural ties.

"I would like to greet you on behalf of the delegation of South Ossetia, which is on this sacred land for the first time.

We are very happy to see the heritage and grandeur of the Great Russian word, its culture and wealth, which, thanks to their deep historical roots, have been carried through the centuries.

On behalf of the leadership and Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia, I am greeting you and all the participants of the XVIII International Festival "The Great Russian Word"," Taimuraz Tadtayev addressed the festival participants.

The parliamentary delegation of South Ossetia also took part in the meeting of the Livadia Club, where the topic of discussion was - "Russia in the Western Direction: Strategic Defense or Strategic Offensive?".

"We also had a fruitful discussion at the round table, in addition to this, various meetings were held, including protocol meetings with the head of Crimea Sergey Aksenov and Chairman of the State Council of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov.

At the end of the meeting, on behalf of Speaker of the Parliament of South Ossetia and the entire deputy corps, we presented them with commemorative coins dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory," Tadtaev said.

The Vice-Speaker added that the South Ossetian delegation was together with Speaker of Parliament of North Ossetia-Alania Taimuraz Tuskaev for all these two days.

According to him, the festival also had a rich cultural program and a huge number of participants, including from Belarus.

Traditionally, the festival is timed to coincide with the birthday of the Great Russian poet Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin.

The event brings together prominent government and public figures, representatives of the literary and scientific-educational community from Russia, near and far abroad, people who deeply respect the historical and cultural heritage of Russia.

The Livadia Forum, literary readings, concerts, exhibitions and other events are held annually within the framework of the festival.
