The South Ossetian products won high awards at the international food and consumer goods exhibition Neva Buyers Week in St. Petersburg, receiving high praise from the Russian retailers.
As reported to IA “Res” by Natalya Varlamova, CEO of the “Russan” company, a distributor of the South Ossetian products in Russia, the gold medal was awarded to the apple-pumpkin pastila from the Subira AV cannery, and the silver award was received by the filtered light beer of the “Iryston” line produced by the High Mountain Kel Brewery.
“We participated in this exhibition for the first time and we had two goals - to conduct negotiations and participate in the competition to understand how experts assess the quality of our products,” she said.
According to Varlamova, the negotiations resulted in about 20 preliminary agreements worth more than 630 million rubles.
“Among the potential partners are such market giants as Miratorg, Magnit North-West, and the Pelican supermarket chain in Tolyatti. Having seen the in-person presentation of the products, their interest in the products was evident, that is, we have passed the stage of this exhibition. However, the success of the negotiations depends on further passing of strict procedures for selecting quality and agreeing on commercial terms,” she has clarified.
The CEO has concluded that after each such platform, feedback is collected to take into account wishes and, if necessary, make changes to production to improve the quality of products.
