A working meeting between the South Ossetian Minister of Culture Rada Dzagoeva and Roman Karmanov, Chairman of the Russian Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives, took place in Tskhinval.
The event was attended by Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Alan Tibilov, Director of the State Drama Theater Grigory Mamiev, and Director of the Simd State Song and dance Group Vadim Sanakoev.
During the meeting, key issues and opportunities for further developing cooperation in the cultural sphere were discussed.
Minister of Culture Rada Dzagoeva expressed gratitude for the opportunity to receive grants from the Presidential Foundation.
"It is very gratifying that our cultural figures have the opportunity to become grant recipients of the Foundation. In today's environment, surviving and developing solely through state funding is becoming increasingly difficult," she has noted.
The Minister has emphasized that cultural development is taking place in dialogue with other countries.
"We work closely with the Russian Ministry of Culture; our teams participate in significant projects under its auspices. We would be delighted if, with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives, new cultural and artistic projects are implemented in South Ossetia. I consider your visit to South Ossetia very significant," Dzagoeva has emphasized.
Roman Karmanov, CEO of the Russian Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives, also noted the importance of the meeting. He has also reminded that the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives was established by decree of Vladimir Putin just over four years ago and, since then, has supported more than 10,000 projects totaling over 40 billion rubles.
"This is a very good opportunity for creative people. We support academic culture, art, and the creative industries, which are currently developing and on the rise. We are interested in seeing what ideas creative people in Ossetia have. There is clearly interest in joint projects," Karmanov has noted.
