President Alan Gagloev met with the participants in the special military operation in Tskhinval.
During the meeting, the head of state expressed deep gratitude to the soldiers for their service and dedication.
"I want to say a huge thank you on my own behalf and on behalf of the entire nation for what you are doing. Russia and I have always shared a common history, and today the sons of Ossetia are giving their lives for a common, bright future. In addition to serving a noble cause, you set an example for our younger generations and show by your own example how to support each other," he has noted.
The state awards were presented during the meeting. By presidential decree, Oleg Magkeev, Chairman of the Association of Veterans of the Special Military Operation in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania and a volunteer of the Separate Sabotage and Reconnaissance Detachment "Alania" (call sign "Gode"), was awarded the "Defender of the Fatherland" medal for courage and bravery displayed in the line of duty during the special military operation.
David Gabaraev, a volunteer of the Separate Sabotage and Reconnaissance Detachment "Alania," Nikolai Tuaev, Deputy Commander for Military and Political Work of the Separate Sabotage and Reconnaissance Detachment, and Roland Shavlokhov, Advisor to Chairman of the Association of Veterans of the Special Military Operation in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, were awarded the "For Military Labor in the Name of Peace" medal.
A journalist Arzu Mamedova, whose reporting covered the special military operation, was also awarded the "In Commemoration of the 35th Anniversary of the Republic of South Ossetia" medal for conscientious performance of her official duties.
