Security issues on the South Ossetian-Georgian border will be discussed on Thursday at the meeting within the framework of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM).
The key topic of discussion in Ergnet will once again be the removal of the Georgian police post from the South Ossetian village of Uista, set up in late August 2019.
The participants will also analyze the current border security situation and review the statistics on violations recorded since the previous meeting.
The meetings in Ergnet are held as part of the Geneva Discussions on Security in the Caucasus and are attended by delegations from South Ossetia, Russia, Georgia, the European Union, and the OSCE.
The IPRM format addresses security issues along the state border between South Ossetia and Georgia.
A hotline is also in place, allowing the parties to promptly contact each other in case of any incident.
