The Defense Minister Yuri Yarovitsky has noted that Mamiev was honorably fulfilling his military duty.

"Today we are bidding farewell to a true hero of South Ossetia, who was honorably fulfilling his military duty during the special military operation. He was fighting for his life to the end, but, unfortunately, his injuries were fatal." "Vadim will forever remain in the memory of his family, loved ones, and comrades," Yarovitsky said.

Mamiev spent a long time in intensive care after sustaining injuries while performing combat missions in the special military operation zone. Despite the doctors' efforts, his life could not be saved.

Three children were left without a father.

By decree of President of the Republic, Vadim Mamiev was awarded the "Defender of the Fatherland" medal.
