Uniting the veteran community is a long-overdue step, and its primary mission must be to support the families of the fallen heroes.
This was stated by ex -President of South Ossetia, Anatoly Bibilov, at the meeting of the Association of Veterans of the Republic’s Patriotic War and Participants in the special military operation.
He has noted that the destinies of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation are inextricably linked.
"Creating such an organization is a necessity; above all, what is needed here is maximum support for the families who lost their loved ones on the battlefield fighting for our Motherland," Bibilov said.
The former president emphasized the depth of the brotherhood formed at the front, where all distinctions vanish.
"In the special military operation zone, there is no division into linguistic or religious groups. Everyone there is a brother. I would very much like to see the disunity sometimes observed in our veteran organizations become a thing of the past," he has stressed. "We need to realize that there is nothing to divide. Everyone—whether a signalman, assault trooper, artilleryman, or logistics specialist—has done and continues to do their part for our common victory. There is no front without the rear; that is an axiom."
Bibilov highlighted the importance of personal contributions to supporting the troops, mentioning those who demonstrate through their actions that they truly care about the fate of the units.
"Marat Arkadyevich Kambolov provided immense, invaluable assistance to our fighters. Vehicles, equipment, resolving critical issues—he was always there to help. Just like so many of our people—teachers and children—who wove camouflage nets for the front," Bibilov said. "For us, any war has always been a people's war." "The slogan 'The people and the army are united' underscores just how vital public support is for our troops as they carry out extremely challenging missions."
Bibilov expressed confidence in the new structure's effectiveness and affirmed his readiness to provide comprehensive support.
"I am grateful to those who established this organization, which is essential in every respect. I am confident it will be highly effective. We will stand by them and do everything possible to ensure that—as Marat Arkadyevich said—every soldier feels and knows they are not facing their problems alone; we are all working together to resolve them," he has concluded.
