In the history of the heroic people of Venezuela, the day of the Signing of the Declaration of Independence became a symbol of the eternal values of freedom, national unity and faith in justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev said in the congratulatory message to his Venezuelan counterpart Ivan Gil Pinto on the occasion of the national holiday.
"On this day - July 5, 1811 - Venezuela was united into a single state for the first time, marking the beginning of a new historical era of state building.
The country that gave the world such outstanding heroes as Francisco Miranda, Simon Bolivar, Hugo Chavez, still highly honors its past today, worthily defending the interests of its people at the present stage in the name of a free and prosperous future," the Minister said.
Akhsar Dzhioev also sent a congratulatory message to the Venezuelan Ambassador to South Ossetia, Jesus Rafael Salazar Velasquez.
