Two cases of violation of South Ossetia's airspace by Georgia have been recorded since the previous meeting within the framework of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanisms (IPRM), the head of the South Ossetian delegation in the IPRM format, Yegor Kochiev, told journalists after the meeting in the village of Ergnet.

"On the same day, drones were sent towards Tskhinval twice," Yegor Kochiev said. "However, as far as I know, the signals were suppressed, and these devices turned around and flew back."

Kochiev has noted that the use of fire weapons in such cases is not advisable.

"We do not shoot down, but suppress their signal using electronic warfare devices, and they, losing control of further flight over the territory of South Ossetia, return back."

Kochiev expressed confidence that in the future this issue will be resolved, and the devices will remain on the territory of South Ossetia.

He has also noted that the Georgian side may be beginning to realize the current objective reality.

"The objective reality is that the Republic of South Ossetia is a free, independent state that has the right to exist, has all the attributes of state power, including a state border," the head of the delegation has emphasized.

He has added that South Ossetia will not allow violations of its airspace.

"Flights will be stopped, the issue will be resolved in accordance with the legislation of the Republic on the prohibition of the use of such devices," he has summarized.
