Tskhinval paid last tributes to Marat "Iron" Gubiev, perished while performing combat missions in the special military operation zone.
The leadership of the Republic, headed by President Alan Gagloev, Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov, members of Parliament headed by Speaker Alan Margiev, representatives of the security forces, relatives and comrades-in-arms of the deceased came to bid farewell to the fighter.
During the funeral rally, Marat's fellow soldiers noted his exceptional friendliness and selflessness.
"He was serving in the OMON for 12 years before going to the special military operation zone. When he came to us, he was still a young man. Together we were growing, developing, studying. He always showed his best human qualities, he was a person who would not leave you in trouble. A true friend and our brother. It is very hard to bid farewell to him today,” his fellow soldiers said.
Gubiev was serving in the separate sabotage and reconnaissance detachment “Alania”.
Marat was 32 years old. He left behind two children.
By decree of the head of state, Gubiev was awarded the “Defender of the Fatherland” medal (posthumously).
