The Head of the Official Mission of South Ossetia in Transnistria, Vitaly Yankovsky, took part in the memorial event organized in Tiraspol by the Official Mission of Abkhazia in Transnistria on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the beginning of the Patriotic War of the People of Abkhazia in 1992-1993.
“August 14, 1992 is a black page in the history of Abkhazia. South Ossetia is sharing the bitterness of the heavy losses of the brotherly Abkhazian people. The memory of the heroes fallen on the battlefield will always live in our hearts,” the press service of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia quotes him as saying.
Residents of Transnistria who know and love Abkhazia have also come to honor the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland and lay fresh flowers.
