Ambassador of South Ossetia to Russia Znaur Gassiev, at the invitation of the Moscow government, participated in the BRICS International Municipal Forum 2025 in St. Petersburg.
The event was attended by delegates from more than 75 countries, the heads of regions, and heads of ministries and departments of the Russian Federation, according to the press service of the South Ossetian Embassy.
"On the sidelines of the Forum, meetings were held with the leadership of the Moscow government, heads of municipalities from the foreign countries, and leaders of a number of public and political associations, where issues of further cooperation with the Republic were discussed," the press service stated.
The agreement on strategic cooperation with the BRICS House was signed, and the agreement was reached to open a branch of the organization in the Republic of South Ossetia.
The agreement provides for the implementation of joint public, business, educational, cultural, humanitarian, and socio-economic initiatives in South Ossetia.
