Peoples of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, with their ancient histories, have demonstrated their resolute and open support for Russia's special military operation in Ukraine. This was stated during a video conference by Akhra Avidzba, commander of the international brigade "Pyatnashka" and Hero of the DPR.
He has emphasized that while many of Russia's allies have limited ability to express support, the Abkhaz and Ossetians were not afraid to openly state their position.
"We weren't afraid of the fact that we're still young states in the legal arena, but we loudly declared our support not only for the special operation, but also began forming units and shedding our blood, proving that we remember the support Russia provided us," he said.
Avidzba has also noted that this active participation is intended to demonstrate to future generations the desire of the peoples of Abkhazia and South Ossetia to contribute to the common victory.
