Strengthening friendly relations with South Ossetia is a priority for the Russian Federation's state policy in the North Caucasus and serves the interests of both peoples, Police Colonel General Sergei Bachurin, Head of the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the North Caucasus Federal District, stated during a meeting of the bilateral Committee of the South Ossetian and North Ossetian Ministries of Internal Affairs.

"In the context of the special military operation, the Western and Ukrainian intelligence agencies are actively attempting to create hotbeds of tension on the southern borders of the Russian Federation.

To this end, they are exploiting problematic issues of interethnic and interfaith relations.

Functional members of the international terrorist organizations are being assisted in forming clandestine cells and spreading radical ideology.

"The activities of the non-profit organizations instigating separatist manifestations and protest activity are being financed," Bachurin said.

In these difficult circumstances, the South Ossetian Ministry of Internal Affairs remains one of the most important partners of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Sergei Bachurin has noted.
