President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev met with the commander of the Alania regional military unit Ruslan Ostaev (call sign "Skif") and his Deputy Nikolai Tuaev, the press service of the head of state reported.
The President warmly greeted the commanders, congratulated them on the upcoming holidays - New Year and Christmas - and asked to convey congratulations to the entire detachment personnel upon their return. The President noted that the commanders arrived with the right and important mission - to reward those who provide comprehensive assistance to the Alania detachment and fighters in the special military operation zone.
In turn, Ruslan Ostaev has noted that the day before the Republic paid last tributes to the special military operation participant Batrbeg Ostaev, which makes holding the award ceremony morally difficult.
“However, it was planned in advance, and we could not help but note those who help our fighters,” Ostaev said.
The commander thanked Alan Gagloev for his attention and support, emphasizing that the recently delivered assistance from the President was distributed as intended. He has noted that more than half of the detachment’s fighters are from South Ossetia.
“Today we want to award those who provide assistance to our soldiers. Many people help, and the letters from children remain especially warm - they warm the souls and remind the soldiers on the front line of their homeland,” Ostaev said.
Nikolai Tuaev also expressed gratitude to the President for his attention and support. He emphasized that the detachment’s leadership will continue to recognize those who help the fighters.
“We couldn’t reward everyone at once. Thank you that there are many such people - we will come periodically to express gratitude to them,” Tuaev has noted.
At the end of the meeting, the President has noted that the leadership of the Republic is always ready to provide the necessary assistance and in resolving any issues related to supporting soldiers and their families.
