The military work of the border troops is a guarantee of peace of mind of residents and visitors of South Ossetia, President Alan Gagloev noted in his congratulatory message on the Day of the Republic's KGB Border Service.
The head of state has emphasized that today the defenders of our borders, courageous and brave individuals whose conscientious performance of their duties directly affects the security of South Ossetia, are being honored.
"In today's rapidly developing world, the introduction of advanced technologies is critical to protecting our national interests. They ensure effective counteraction to the cross-border crime, threats such as terrorism and drug trafficking, and allow to promptly responding to risks in the environment of the increasingly transparent borders," the message reads.
Gagloev has added that thanks to the border guards' professionalism, responsibility, and ability to cope with difficulties in emergency situations, the Republic is reliably protected from any external challenges.
The President has expressed his sincere gratitude to the border guards for their meticulous execution of their assigned tasks and expressed confidence that by improving their skills and abilities, they will continue to serve conscientiously for the benefit of the Fatherland.
