The Kosta Khetagurov State Drama Theater of South Ossetia will be hosted in Crimea in the second half of June, the Ministry of Culture press service reported.
"As part of the project's international focus, the South Ossetian theater will present three plays from its repertoire in Sevastopol, Simferopol, and Yalta: Chekhov's "Ivanov" (directed by K. Dzheliev), "Kosta" (directed by R. Gabria), and G. Khugaev's "Black Burka" (directed by K. Dzheliev)," the press service reported.
"Big Tour" is a project of the Russian Ministry of Culture, in which over a hundred theater companies participate annually. These include the leading Russian theaters, as well as the regional and international ones.
Starting in 2025, South Ossetia has been also hosting the "Big Tours."
In November, the Obraztsov Moscow Academic Puppet Theater successfully toured Tskhinval. This year, the Kosta Khetagurov State Drama Theater will host the Gorky Moscow Art Academic Theater (MKhAT). The renowned company's tour will take place in April.
