Soslan Bekoev, Chairman of the National Bank of South Ossetia, and Dmitry Dubinin, the CEO of the National Payment Card System, discussed the possibility of creating the national payment system in the Republic. This was reported by the Bank of Alania press service.
During the meeting, Soslan Bekoev noted the positive experience of cooperation and thanked the National Payment Card System for its long-standing partnership.
The National Payment Card System management and specialists welcomed the information about the creation of the National Payment Card System in South Ossetia and expressed their willingness to provide methodological and other assistance in the project's implementation.
The parties also discussed concluding the inter-structural agreement.
Provided integration with the Russian Mir system, the creation of the NPS will expand the payment infrastructure, increase the stability of financial settlements, and create new opportunities for the Republic's commercial banks. By becoming direct participants in the National Payment System of the Republic of South Ossetia, they will be able to operate throughout the entire Mir payment system's operational area.
The National Bank of the Republic of South Ossetia is implementing measures to expand the functionality of the South Ossetian payment cards and explore new opportunities for using the payment system in accordance with the presidential order to transition the government bodies to the point where card-based payment system.
