South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev met with the members participating in the special military operation in Tskhinvali The head of state expressed gratitude to the soldiers for their courage, fortitude, and dedication in carrying out combat missions.
During the conversation, Gagloev has noted that the Republic's leadership and people are especially eager for the defenders to return home.
"We are always very happy when you come and have the opportunity to meet in person and express our sincere gratitude. Wherever the special military operation is mentioned, it is noted that the Ossetian soldiers are always on the front lines. Unfortunately, there are losses—this is very painful for all of us. You are in battle, but take care of yourselves," Gagloev said.
The head of state has expressed confidence that the feat of today's soldiers will forever remain in the people's memory and become a role model for young people.
"Your steadfastness and loyalty to the oath are an example for future generations. Ossetian warriors have always been distinguished by exceptional bravery, and today you are proving this once again in action," the President has emphasized.
Concluding the meeting, the President wished the defenders good health, success in completing their missions, and a speedy return home to their families.
For their heroism and bravery during the fighting, Alan Gagloev presented state awards to the servicemen. The special military operation members were awarded the "Defender of the Fatherland" and "For Military Labor for Peace" medals. The soldiers also received the jubilee medals "In Commemoration of the 35th Anniversary of the Republic of South Ossetia."
