The Beslan School No. 1 Center discussed the creation of the international award named in honor of the children of Beslan. The award will be presented for contribution to preserving peace, combating aggression, and helping children.
The project was initiated by Mauro Murgia, the South Ossetian Foreign Ministry representative in Italy, the Foreign Ministry's press service reports.
The organizing committee has included the city officials, the co-chairs of the "Mothers of Beslan" association, representatives of the Russian and South Ossetian Foreign Ministries, and public figures from Italy.
Mauro Murgia has emphasized that the award will be purely symbolic and will not include a monetary reward, in order to remain a symbol of selfless kindness.
Doctor of Law Gleb Sintsov will develop the award's regulations.
As noted by the Mothers of Beslan, this award will become a symbol of hope and unity for peace in memory of the perished children.
