President Alan Gagloev met with Yuri Kadiy, Chairman of the South Ossetian State Security Committee, and Vladimir Shchemelinin, Head of the Russian FSB Border Directorate in the Republic.
During the meeting, the current cooperation issues were discussed, as well as a number of topics related to ensuring stability and coordination of security work.
Vladimir Shchemelinin informed the President about the operational situation at the state border and the current activities of the units providing security of the borders of the Republic. Issues of interaction between residents of the border areas and border structures were also discussed.⠀⠀
Special attention was paid to the functioning of checkpoints on the South Ossetian-Georgian section of the border. Preparations for their opening, including the Razdakhan and Sinagur checkpoints, were discussed, as well as the organizational measures aimed at ensuring security.⠀⠀
The head of state confirmed the importance of further constructive cooperation between the KGB Border Service of South Ossetia and the Border Directorate of the Russian FSB in the Republic as well as the coordinated actions aimed at maintaining a calm and stable situation in the Republic.
