South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev noted the growing momentum in developing cooperation with Abkhazia.
In his speech at the International Economic Forum "Abkhazia – Investments in the Future" in Sukhum, Alan Gagloev has reminded that the two republics have recently reached specific agreements of practical significance.
This includes the duty-free trade agreement signed last September at the 1st International Economic Forum "South Ossetia: Investment Horizons" in Tskhinval.
"Its implementation creates favorable conditions for the growth of mutual trade, opens up new opportunities for business, and contributes to improving the well-being of our citizens." "The equally important area is establishing cooperation in the investment sector, as well as developing banking ties between the national financial institutions," the leader of the Republic of South Ossetia said.
"These steps form a solid foundation for further deepening cooperation. I am convinced that cooperation in key sectors such as agriculture and tourism can provide greater impetus to the economic development of both republics," Gagloev has noted.
He has also emphasized that today the Republic of Abkhazia is confidently asserting itself as a full-fledged participant in the international processes, actively developing economic ties, strengthening foreign policy contacts, and improving public administration, education, and healthcare systems.
These achievements testify to the republic's powerful creative potential and deserve sincere respect.
"In this context, holding a large-scale International Economic Forum, 'Abkhazia – Investments in the Future,' is of strategic importance for Abkhazia's development. The presented program, covering a wide range of issues, reflects a fundamental approach to developing key economic sectors and a focus on expanding interregional cooperation," the President has noted.
He has expressed confidence that the Forum will become the effective platform for expanding business contacts, exchanging experiences, and developing practical solutions aimed at further economic growth.
