Nearly 100 violators: South Ossetia's KGB Border Service summarizes its work for the first quarter of 2026

The Border Service of the State Security Committee of South Ossetia summarized its work for the first quarter of 2026, reporting the detention of 97 violators of border legislation at various sections of the state border.

According to the KGB, of the total number of those detained, 34 individuals violated state border regulations, and 63 violated border regulations.

The Border Service conducted investigations into each violation identified.

"As a result, 34 individuals were fined administratively, and 50 individuals underwent preventive interviews. Criminal cases were opened against four of those detained, and another four were deported from the republic. "Investigations are currently underway in four cases, and proceedings in one administrative case have been terminated," the KGB press service reported.

The total amount of administrative fines collected by the state amounted to 97,500 rubles.

The KGB Border Service of the Republic of South Ossetia once again reminded residents and visitors to the republic planning to visit settlements located in the border zone, including for recreation or to participate in festive and memorial events, of the need to carry identification documents.

For adults, this is a passport; for minors, a birth certificate.

Foreign citizens are also required to carry border zone passes.
