South Ossetia perceives Russia as its great homeland. This was stated by the Republic's President, Alan Gagloev, at the meeting with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.
"I want to emphasize that we, South Ossetians, perceive Russia as our great homeland. This is no exaggeration," he said.
Gagloev also stated that by signing the agreement to deepen its allied cooperation with Russia, South Ossetia is "taking a step towards unity."
"Together with you, we are taking another step toward bringing our countries and our peoples closer together. This step will be the beginning of the process of reunification of the Ossetian people. Therefore, I am overwhelmed with a sense of pride in being part of this great event," the Republic's President added.
