The foreign delegation is headed by the Special Representative of President of the Republic of Nicaragua for Interaction with the Russian Federation and International Cooperation Laureano Ortega Murillo.
At the beginning of the meeting, Alan Gagloev noted the high role of the established diplomatic and friendly relations between South Ossetia and Nicaragua and invited the representatives of the Nicaraguan delegation to visit South Ossetia in the near future.
"People of South Ossetia remember and highly appreciate your support in the form of recognizing the state independence of our Republic. We hope to see you in South Ossetia so that you can personally verify my words," Gagloev said.
In turn, Laureano Murillo Ortega called Gagloev his brother and conveyed the words of gratitude and greeting from the Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega.
"I am very glad to meet you. We highly appreciate your attitude, and I repeat that our doors are always open for you,” the head of the Nicaraguan delegation said.
The parties agreed to consider possible areas of promising cooperation, taking into account the complicated logistics caused by both the geopolitical situation and geographical distances.
Gagloev also noted the high role of Ambassador of Nicaragua to the Russian Federation and the Republic of South Ossetia Alba Azucena Torres Mejia in the sphere of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
At the end of the meeting, Alan Gagloev presented Laureano Ortego Murillo with a series of commemorative coins of the National Bank of the Republic of South Ossetia depicting the heroes of the Soviet Union, the natives of South Ossetia, as well as a book published by the Information and Press Committee “The Path to the Great Victory: the Military Feat of the Soldiers of South Ossetia.”
