South Ossetia took part in the events dedicated to Venezuela's Independence Day

At the invitation of the Venezuelan Embassy in the Russian Federation, South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev took part in the events dedicated to the Republic's Independence Day, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reports.

"At the event to mark the 214th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence of Venezuela, taken place in Moscow near the monument to the famous Latin American hero and symbol of freedom of the peoples of Latin America, Simon Bolivar, the Venezuelan Ambassador to Russia and concurrently to South Ossetia, Jesus Rafael Salazar Velasquez, delivered a welcoming speech," the press service has noted.

Akhsar Dzhioev, on behalf of President of South Ossetia, congratulated the Venezuelan people on the national holiday and wished peace and prosperity, expressing hope for further strengthening of friendly relations between South Ossetia and Venezuela.

A ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to the national hero of Venezuela took place.

Also, as part of the celebration, the Basmanny Dvor creative space, with the support of the House of Latin America hosted a number of events dedicated to the historical and cultural traditions of Venezuela under the thematic title "The Amazing World of Venezuela".
