South Ossetia's Ambassador to Russia, Znaur Gassiev, is taking part in celebratory events in Belarus to mark the national holiday—the 108th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution.
Аccording to the press service of the South Ossetian Embassy, Gassiev received the invitation to participate in the events from Sergei Syrankov, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus.
Alexander Lukashenko congratulated his compatriots on November 7th. In his celebratory message, the head of the republic expressed confidence that, by preserving the tradition of celebration, Belarusians have imbued it with a constructive meaning, based on the evolutionary path of sustainable societal transformation without social strife and upheaval.
The event is attended by heads of state authorities, the Minsk City Executive Committee, and ambassadors from friendly countries—Cuba, China, Venezuela, South Ossetia, Iran, Palestine, and Vietnam.
The country traditionally celebrates October Revolution Day by inaugurating its most significant infrastructure projects. Minsk hosts commemorative rallies, festive concerts, and educational and scientific events on this day.
