South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev spoke at the grand opening of the international educational forum "Knowledge. Heroes," timed to coincide with the Defender of the Fatherland Day.
"The Forum we are opening today is not a one-time event, but the beginning of the systematic and long-term work," the head of state has declared.
According to Alan Gagloev, all organizational procedures have been completed, and starting today, the Russian "Knowledge" Society begins the full-fledged operations in South Ossetia.
This, he has emphasized, is the important step in developing humanitarian cooperation, strengthening educational and cultural ties, and creating a common intellectual and spiritual space.
The event's patriotic focus lends special significance.
"The people gathered here know the value of words like duty, honor, and service. Their personal experience and life example are especially important for young people. This is how character, responsibility, and civic maturity are formed," the President has emphasized.
Gagloev has noted that patriotism is not slogans, but daily work, loyalty to one's history, respect for the heroism of one's ancestors, and willingness to take responsibility for the future.
"It is through knowledge, education, and personal example that we create a solid foundation for development and unity," he said.
The head of the Republic also expressed sincere gratitude to Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin for his constant attention to South Ossetia and for his comprehensive support of the Republic, including in the implementation of the humanitarian and educational programs.
The "Knowledge. Heroes" forum is being held at the Kosta Khetagurov State Drama Theater in Tskhinval. It brought together over 400 active young people. The program has included speeches by the Heroes of the Russian Federation and the Donetsk People's Republic, veterans of the Air Defense Forces, the government officials, and cultural figures, including the actor Yegor Beroev.
