The meeting of Presidents of South Ossetia and Russia, Alan Gagloev and Vladimir Putin took place in Moscow.

At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the Russian state noted the contribution of the Ossetian people to achieving Victory.

The reception was organized on behalf of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

More than eight thousand residents of South Ossetia took part in the Immortal Regiment march in Tskhinvali.

The children of the fallen defenders of the Fatherland marched in the front rows on the main square of the hero city.

Citizens of the capital carried portraits of veterans and defenders who had died in the Great Patriotic War to the sounds of wartime songs.

The districts of the Republic also took part in the main march in the capital.

More than 11.5 thousand servicemen took part in the parade, 1,500 of whom were participants in the special military operation.

South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev, together with the Russian leader Vladimir Putin and heads of foreign states, laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander Garden, his press service reports.

The head of the South Ossetian Parliamentary Committee on National Policy, Culture, Religion and Media and Chairman of the Committee on Youth Policy and Sports of the Republic Soslan Gassiev took part in the commemorative events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Delegations from South Ossetia, Abkhazia, Belarus, and various regions of Russia arrived in the Leningrad Region, the press service of the legislative body of the Republic of South Ossetia reports.

A gala reception was held in Tskhinval, organized by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in South Ossetia on the occasion of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The event brought together the officials and public figures.

Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov, addressing the guests, emphasized the significance of the event and the unity of those gathered.

South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev accepted the invitation to attend a dinner on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Alan Gagloev's press Secretary, Natalya Bosikova, told reporters.
"A dinner on behalf of the Russian President was organized for the heads of foreign delegations arrived for the proud events to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Alan Eduardovich accepted the invitation and is at the gala event with his colleagues," Bosikova said.
She has added that Vladimir Putin greeted the foreign leaders who arrived in Moscow.
