In honour of the Day of Russia a gala concert with participation of the Russian folk group «The Red May rose» from St.-Petersburg, a performer from North Ossetia Valery Bugulov and the South-Ossetian dancing choreographic groups has taken place in Tskhinval. The concert has passed in the evening of June, 12. During the whole evening the Russian group «The Red May rose» which has visited South Ossetia for the first time was charging the people which have gathered on a central square of Tskhinval with the positive energy. Having started the performance with the hymn of Russia, the soloists of the group have sung a number of national-variety songs.

The President of the Republic of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity has sent the congratulatory telegram to the Prime Minister of the government of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on the occasion of celebrating the Day of Russia. On June, 8 the Round table of creative intelligentsia from Ossetia, Russia and the countries of Europe «The Cooperation Bridges» has taken place in the Russian centre of science and culture in Brussels. The Round table has been organized by the International association of the Ossetian societies "Renaissance" and the Gallery "IR-ART". The action has been timed to several dates: the Independence Day of the Republic of South Ossetia, the Independence Day of the Russian Federation and to the City Day of Vladikavkaz which are celebrated on May, 29, on June, 12 and on June, 11 accordingly.

The Euro Parliament resolution (EP) with the requirement to withdraw the Russian troops from South Ossetia and Abkhazia and stop issuing the Russian passports to the citizens of these republics- is the result of ignorance or, probably, conscious ignoring of the existing realities. It has been declared the IA "Res» by the vice-speaker of the Parliament of South Ossetia Yuri Dzitstsoity, making comments on the resolution concerning the relations of the European Union and Russia, adopted on June, 9. «It`s high time for the Euro Parliament to realize that South Ossetia and Abkhazia are the recognized states, and not any Russian army have ever been on the territory of Georgia. As to South Ossetia, the Russian military base and the Russian frontier guards are stationed in our territory in full accordance with the international law, in particular, in accordance with the agreement on mutual aid and cooperation which has been signed between South Ossetia and Russia. This fact has the legal basis and any appeals are more likely of declarative nature», - the vice-speaker has declared. Dzitstsoity is convinced that the similar formulations in the resolution of the ЕP have appeared by the efforts of Georgia.

The exhibition of the Ossetian artists is being held in Belgium. - The IA "Res» have been informed at the Ministry of Culture of the RSO. «On the eighth of June, on the eve of celebrating the Day of Russia, the exhibition under the name “Reflection”, where the pictures of three talented Ossetian artists» are presented, has been opened in Brussels, - the Ministry has reported. It has been noticed that the organizers of the exhibition are the International association of the Ossetian societies "Renaissance", the gallery "Ir-Art" and the Russian centre of science and culture in Brussels.«The pictures of three talented Ossetian artists- Vadim Pukhaev, Igor Toguzaev and Vadim Tsalikov- are presented at the exhibition », - have been informed at the Ministry. Today - on June, 10 another exhibition of the series "Reflection" will be opened in France; the works of Vadim Pukhaev, Igor Toguzaev, Vadim Tsalikov, Fatima Alikova and Aleksandra Poljanina will be presented there.

The delegation of South Ossetia will take part in the international conference «The Eastern policy of the European Union» which will be held from 10 to 11 June, at the free university named after Chernorizts in Varna. The delegation will include the Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of the RSO, the Candidate for Philology Mira Tskhovrebova and the Vice-President of the Society of the South-Ossetian-Bulgarian friendship, a political scientist Inal Pliev. As the member of the delegation Inal Pliev has informed the IA "Res", it is planned to discuss the aspects of the European foreign policy, the eastern accents of the European economy, power and safety at the conference.

Press release of delegation of the Republic of South Ossetia at the Geneva international discussions about the sixteenth meeting within the frames of the international discussions on safety and stability in Transcaucasia

On May, 7, 2011 the sixteenth round of the Geneva international discussions on safety and stability in Transcaucasia has come to the end. Delegations of the Republic of South Ossetia, the Republic of Abkhazia and Georgia, the Russian Federation, the USA and also representatives of the EU, the United Nations and the OSCE have taken part in the work of the meeting. The delegation of the Republic of South Ossetia was headed by the Plenipotentiary of the President of the RSO Boris Chochiev. The work was being carried out by two groups. The group on safety has exchanged opinions on current situation at the places recognized as the tense ones. The delegation of South Ossetia has paid attention to the facts of deliberate infringement of the border and unwillingness of the Georgian authorities to cooperate in definition of the line of passage on the border.

In connection with the draught resolution submitted by Georgia to the General Assembly of the United Nations about the position of temporary displaced persons and refugees from Abkhazia and South Ossetia

At 63 and 64 sessions of the General Assembly of the United Nations (in 2009 and in 2010y.y.) the draught resolution on refugees and internally displaced persons from Abkhazia and South Ossetia submitted by Georgia was being adopted. Thereby behind the reference to the humanitarian problems the Georgian side tries to thrust its extremely distorted vision of the refugee problem on the world community, and thereby supports its claims on the territory of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. In the next draught resolution on refugees and internally displaced persons submitted by Georgia to the GA of the UN, which does not differ from the resolutions of the GA of the UN adopted earlier, it is said about the confirmation of rights of all the internally displaced persons and refugees and also their descendants on returning «in their houses all over the territory of Georgia, including Abkhazia and South Ossetia».
