People of South Ossetia cherish the memory of Nicaragua’s resolute support during the most difficult times of war — Dzhioev

On September 15, 1821, the courageous people of Nicaragua determined their path toward freedom and independence—a path rooted in respect for a rich historical heritage and fidelity to the national ideal of unity and a heroic struggle for justice.

This sentiment was expressed in a congratulatory message of the South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev to the Nicaraguan Foreign Ministers Denis Ronaldo Moncada Colindres and Waldrak Ludwing Jaentschke Whitaker on the occasion of the Republic's Independence Day.

Parade, "Ossetian Courtyard," and concert: how South Ossetia will mark the State Flag Day and the Republic Day

South Ossetia will celebrate the State Flag Day and the 36th anniversary of the Republic's proclamation with a military parade, an art fair, and a festive concert.

The festivities begin on September 19 on the Tskhinval’s Theater Square with a ceremony dedicated to State Flag Day (starting at 12:00), according to the Republic's commission for organizing state-level events.

"The following day, September 20, at 10:30, flowers will be laid at the bust of Torez Kulumbegov—a prominent political figure and Chairman of the Republic's Supreme Council from 1990 to 1993.
