At the initiative of the Russian House in Tskhinval, a ceremony of raising the Russian flag and presenting gratitude to the most active citizens of South Ossetia will be held in front of the representative office on Thursday.
This was announced at the press conference by the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in the Republic, Sergei Komissarov.
The event is timed to coincide with the national holiday – Russia Day.
“We hope that this initiative will take on a traditional character. Last year, we raised the Russian flag in front of the Rossotrudnichestvo building for the first time, and we will do the same this year,” Komissarov said.
He has noted that in the Russian Federation, on Russia Day, distinguished citizens receive various awards from representatives of ministries, departments, and even the President.
"Tomorrow we also plan to express our gratitude to the most active citizens of South Ossetia who help the activities of the Russian House in Tskhinval and are worthy of these honors by their behavior and qualities," the head of the department has noted.
As concluded by Komissarov, this event in front of the Russian House building will be the final part of the official celebrations of Russia Day.
